East Yangon University Law Students’ Association Mock Trial Competition (EMTC)

EYULSA Mock Trial Competition (EMTC) was held by EYULSA partnered with Law Department of East Yangon University on 3rd, 4th and 5th of February 2020. The EMTC is the very first mock trial competition in East Yangon University. The main theme in the competition was Criminal Case. We, EYULSA, aim students to develop skills as legal writing skill, advocacy skill, research skill, presentation skill, critical thinking skill, problem solving skill and etc. And students are expected to reflect their talents, abilities, skills and qualification and it can be displayed before the audience and judges. Our law students can enhance a new perspective of mock trial culture through EMTC. EYULSA provided trainings and rehearsal for the competition. Total six teams Lustitia, Rest My Case, Energetic, Dream Colors, The Shield and Wednesday participated in general round of EMTC. The 2nd runner up teams are Dream Colors and Energetic.

The 1st runner up is The Shield team. And Wednesday won the final round of EMTC. Team members of Wednesday are Theingi Oo, Hnin Ei Aung (4th year), Aung Min Thet (3rd year), Eaindra Thazin Myint and Thin Thin Hlaing (2nd year). And also Dr. Phyu Phyu Tint (Professor), Dr. San San Lwin (Associate Professor), Dr. Yu Mon Cho (Lecturer) of Law Department, Kyaw KoKo Lwin, Khin Yin Mon Thant ( Founders of EYULSA), May Nyein Su Zan Hla (Former EYULSA membership officer), U Aung Thu, U Nyi Nyi Aye, U Gun San Lar (Advocates from Yangon Justice Center), Pyae Pyae Phyo, Hla Yadanar Win, Lynn Pyeii (Founders of ALSA Myanmar), U Aung Paing , Daw Khin Sandar ( Advocates from Sympathy Pro Bono Lawyers Group) and Linn Htet Aung (Denmark-Myanmar Human Rights and Rule of Law Programmer) helped us through the role of Judges.
